There are a few things I am going to be posting on in the next day or two. One of them is Phish being in town for the next three nights, and the posters surrounding the shows. Also, last night was the Four Mile Canyon Revival Concert, of which Conscience Alliance contributed a poster.
The Rock Art Poster Expo is also going on up in Broomfield, so I will have plenty of pictures and such to show you all.

Before n' After
This is a great example of what a decent frame and mat job can do to a piece. This print is done by Denver artist, Michael Scarano. This one was done for the Art Crank 2009, a really cool art show focusing on bicycles, art, music, and beer. Art Crank 2010 just passed by, google Art Crank for more info.
The silver frame and mat are a great match.
Finished:
Needed to get these posted. Some really slick looking pieces, ready to shine in D.C.
I really enjoyed doing this one. We went with the tickets above and below the piece, which gave it a long slim look. Also, there is a nice silver mat in there to bring out the metallic inks in the print itself. I am into the Methane Studios posters, check em out especially if you like Dave Matthews Band. They have been commissioned by DMB for the last few tours.
This My Morning Jacket piece had some nice metallic brass inks in it, so I found a metallic mat to match, and bring out that aspect in this technical print. Too cool.
This Phish one, however, is staying in Denver:

Artist Interview: Branden Otto
I want to take the time to introduce an artist that will be at the Mile High Poster Expo this year, Branden Otto. I recently came across his posters, and really wanted to learn more about him, so I looked him up!
Thank you again Branden for your time, maybe we can get an Elway poster for Broomfield? You know that guy rules this town.
Brandon has some amazing talent, coming up with some very original designs for Phish's Summer Tours. He really knows how to lay down some inks, and I cannot see what he comes up with next. If you see Branden out there this fall, say hello and get a print! You can also support him by following his blog - Branden Otto Art

Private Showings Available
I want to let the readers know about a really special opportunity to get their hands on some vintage rock memorabilia. I have a friend that is in town until September 20th or so, that has a very nice poster/handbill/memorabilia collection that he sells on occasion. Now is that occasion, and if you went to the Psychedelic Experience at the Denver Art Museum, you will recognize a lot of these posters, and artists. I am now the proud owner of 5 Mosocos , 2 Griffens and a total of 6 Family Dog Denver production works. If you'd like to set up a showing, look at pictures, and hear some great stories, click the "read more" link below. Thank you!

Neu Projects:
I am pressing a couple more posters today, they are My Morning Jacket posters from two awesome Denver performances.
Stay tuned, these frames will be finished tomorrow likely. The owner is moving to D.C. and he wanted some souvenirs from his days in Denver. Nice souvenir I must say!

Denver Collectors/Fans: Put these on your calendar
I saw these poster shows were happening soon and I wanted to give you Colorado fans a heads up about it. It sure looks like its going to be a fun time, I'll see you all there!
I'm really going to make the push to get a booth at this thing. It should be an excellent convention, especially seeing that the Mile High Poster Expo is going to be happening when Phish is in Broomfield.
Finished:
Glad to finally have these done and hanging on my wall, both of them are simple and although I did intentionally do that, I went a stronger route with the materials actually used. They both are done in a museum quality ragmat, and both have museum glass. They look sharp and classy.

Stay Classy Denver

Finished:
Finished the final details on these projects today-
This album is mounted in a floating mount style onto a bi-color background, with a raised double black ragmat matting and a simple contemporary black frame to match. There will be some silver/grey accents put onto this piece before it gets delivered.
Also, I posted about this one last week. And since its not everyday that you get a setlist from a world tour, I just pushed to finish it quick. I had to put the stub into it too,on account of the extrordinary row and seat location. Shout out to my boy Nick with PhatPhlogBlog.blogspot.com again, the ticket stub phenomenon lives on.

Broken Glass?
Ever had a moment when you wanted to rehang all your framed posters? You pull them all down, and set them up against the wall only to have them slide and slap the floor when you walk away, shattering the glass? Ah yes, the floor slap has taken many sheets of glass to the grave. Its an easy fix though, and can usually be done same day. This frame needed a new sheet of glass and a little more support to keep it from flexing the glass since its such a large piece.
But here it is, I wanted to get a picture before it went out the door:
E-mail me if you have any kind of preservation questions/tips. If you have thumbtack holes on an old poster, ther are ways to cover it with a mat in a frame. if you have stains, etc on your poster, I work in art restoration too. Save the posters of your youth.
